Monday January 1, 2007 11:00 a.m. - New Year’s Day Mystery Ride to Nowhere!

Ray Wageman Says Try Again Next Year!
He will go on out to Turners and maybe ride a short route,
but the ‘Mystery Ride’ is off – too windy / cold.
So the ride is no ‘SHOW AND GO’.

Here's Ray

Jill will open Turner’s Station at 10:30. Much good muchies available along with hot coffee (rest rooms too). The ladies will love this! Jill sells a Golden Nugget for $1.25. Delicious! A sag wagon will carry an extra bike or two plus an extra wheel in case of trouble and some one wanting to go to Nowhere will be able to do so On cold days riders always like to shed clothing. This they can do at each mystery stop along the way and the sag wagon will pick up and return articles to Turner’s There will be two eating places other than Turner’s. The last one is GREAT Riders will need to pick up four maps enroute. I have been riding much the last few days and have decided to drop the cut-off temp to 35 degrees. Of course, the hard core will ride regardless of the temp. I hope to be able to have hot cider at Nowhere but can’t promise. I am predicting a very nice day for the ride  Total mileage is 30-35 miles. I hope you and your squeeze had a very Merry Christmas. Ray Wageman

News (and Rumors too)

Bicycle Advocacy committee to regroup! The committee has not met in several months and is in need of re-focusing. We need volunteers to help generate ideas and organize activities such as Safe Routes to School, May is Bicycle Month, City Bike Routes, Bicycle Safety Education, Children’s Activities, and many other bicycle advocacy related events. Email Bruce Adib-Yazdi if you are interested. Next meeting date and location in January to be determined.

Here is Tim handing out door prizes at the Christmas Party. We thank our generous local bike shops for all the great donated items!  ...hope you didn’t miss it!

At the Christmas Party there was discussion about the route for next year’s Dogwood. While Tim doesn’t want to be remembered as the guy who changed the 25 year route tradition, it's becoming very inhospitable for cyclists along certain sections of the route. What do you think? Please make your nomination through this website.  Representative members from Springbike, Ozark Cycling Club, Ozark Multi-Sport Club, and Ozark Greenways will review all entries and select award recipient(s). Deadline for entry is December 31, 2006. Winners will be announced in early 2007 at the Ozark Greenways Annual Meeting – date to be announced. Cynthia
